The Beast had been wandering for some time. Not just wandering in general, either. He had been wandering for what seemed like years. After all, it probably had been. Though he wasn't exactly sure how long. That's what happens when you lose part of your memory, and replace it with false ones. Time gets stretched and distorted. It's funny how fickle time can be, if you do choose to measure it. So he tended not to keep track, as if he had a choice. But now he was searching instead of wandering. It was about time he had a place to call his own.

Fog wrapped smoothly around the body of the nineteen hand stallion, shrouding him in a veil of milky white. It blurred out the golden light of the sun, making the misty air harder to see through. Yet he didn't need to rely on his eyes, despite how keen his sight was. His sense of sound led him now as he slinked effortlessly, moved so slowly through the dense fog. As if he were one with the shroud.

The sounds told him that he was not alone. Something approached from a frontward direction. A first it was covered by the blanket of fog, but it quickly became visible; as visible as something in the fog could be. A one-two beat signified the creature moved at a quicker pace than his own, and the weight of it told him it was equine. A rather large one, though not as large as he. The Beast halted. He wasn't one to approach unless absolutely necessary. From somewhere within him, something close to a growl nearly surface. He mentally squashed the sound and waited silently, crimson eyes staring at the other blackened equine as it approached and began to take shape.
